WASHINGTON, D.C. – Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) signed House Bill 272 into law on Thursday night, making it the 22nd state to enact Constitutional Carry. Gun Owners of America (GOA) has been working alongside grassroots supporters and their lobbying efforts to support this legislation in Alabama and in several other states across the country.
“Seeing Constitutional Carry signed into law in Alabama is a major victory for gun owners in the Yellowhammer State and a model for other states across the country,” Erich Pratt, GOA’s Senior Vice President, said. “GOA thanks all of our grassroots supporters for their state lobbying efforts to push this critical legislation across the finish line. Constitutional Carry is one of the most important restorations of our Second Amendment rights, and we look forward to the remaining states enacting similar legislation.”
“A decade long battle has now came to the end,” Eddie Fulmer, the President of BamaCarry, said. “For too long, Alabama’s gun rights lagged behind. However, with the passage of Constitutional Carry, gun owners have made great strides in restoring the right to keep and bear arms.”
